Plaid Mania
    
     This is a study of different uses of plaid fabrics in a quilt.  Different types of plaids are described and identified.  Tips on using bias, either on your strips or
     piecing are shared.

     Possible workshop:  Shadow Plaid Quilt - (a full size quilt) an all day class.

     This class will use all types of plaids in learning about value and color.  You will also use triangles on paper to do the piecing.
      Mad About Plaid, by Debbie Bacon would be helpful but not required for the class.


Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue:  A Hidden Legacy

     This is a study of how hidden messages were expressed by women in their quilts.  A collection of quilts illustrates some of the old secrets from generations
     of quilters.  Some of the topics discussed are:  Historical facts about community, family, and friends.  Different techniques are used to get an effect or a
     message conveyed.

     Possible Workshops:  The Celebration Quilt, Teapot Quilt, and Ribbons and Hearts Wallhanging.  (a full day class for a quilt or a half day class for a pillow)


Bacon Bits 'N Pieces:  A Quilter's Journey

     A testimony of how this quilter started quilting and the journey it has been.  She may even show you her first quilt.  Well...maybe not.

     Possible Workshops:  Any project or pattern that a group might be interested in.


Exploring the Modern Quilt

     What is going on with quilting?  Have we solved all the problems?  Are you looking for a new challenge?  Are you evolving from a traditional quilter
     into a modern quilter and didn't realize it?  Are you learning new techniques to be able to produce the quilt you can be proud of?
    
     Possible Workshops:  Teapot Quilt or a block; a wool block, or a new pattern.


Peppermint Embroidery (traditionally called Red Work)

     The history of this wonderful art form and the basics of using hand embroidery for everything from crazy quilting to simple embroidery for quilt
     embellishments are demonstrated.

     Possible Workshop:  Embroider a panel to be used in a pillow. (a possible half day workshop)

          A quick demo on how to use fusible webbing to applique the teapots or other projects.

     Ribbons & Bows:  Hand Applique Tips with Debbie Bacon
          A demo to get all wrapped-up in doing ribbons and bows with needle turn applique.  Ribbon designs from
          "Christmas Medley", "Peppermint Twist", and "Ribbons & Hearts".

     Trading Spaces in Quilts
          Ideas for how to do a block exchange and create a special sampler for a group.  Featured are several
          sampler quilts and projects.
