| Tea with Strawberries
& Cream
This lecture is an invitation to share tea with
Strawberries & Creams in a new quilt that
features whimsical teapots. There are so many
things that have been forgotten about having,
"A Tea". A brief lecture about tea and
its charming traditions is presented along with
answering the question about whether to hand applique
or do fusible applique.
Workshop:
A Teapot Block - A half day class. You
can choose from any of the teapot blocks. Technique:
Fusible Applique.
Plaid Mania
A study in how to use plaids in a quilt. The different
types of plaids are described and identified.
Keys to how to handle bias, either on your strips
or triangles are shared.
Workshop:
Shadow Plaid Quilt - (A full size quilt)
all day class. The class will use all types of
plaids in learning about value and color. You
will also use triangle paper to do the piecing.
I have done this project as a swap as well as
on an individual basis.
Cross Your Heart Quilt - (app. 27½"
x 27½") all day class. The class demonstrates
how to take 4 plaids and mix them together using
different techniques such as machine piecing and
hand applique.
Sample A Sampler
My first quilt was a sampler and I have had a
fascination about them ever since. This lecture
explains the process of making a sampler quilt
and how to share it with a group. Be careful this
can be contagious.
Workshop:
Spring Sampler - (app. 46½"
x 56") all day class. This quilt project
includes machine piercing, fusible applique, and
paper piecing.
I Love Quilting - (app. 12" x 12")
all day class. This is a miniature project with
practice in paper piecing, and fusing fabric,
into a small sampler quilt.
Bacon Bits 'N Pieces: A Quilter's Story
This is the story of how this quilter started
quilting and what are her interests and specialties.
The story behind getting started in the pattern
business and her favorite quilt stories are just
a few things she'll share. she may even show you
her first quilt ... well ... maybe not.
Workshop:
Any of the Strawberries and Cream patterns or
Bacon Bits pattern. These could be half day and
some full day classes.
Quilting: Just how old are you?
This lecture starts with research as far back
as 2000 B.C., and moves through time as quilting
techniques where used and developed and then handed
down. Today, we have such a new innovations as
the computer and the Internet taking us where
no quilter has gone before.
Fusible applique: Quick and Easy
A demonstration on how to use fusible
webbing to applique the teapots on Deb's quilt,
"Tea with Strawberries & Cream".
Ribbons & Bows
Hand applique with Debbie Bacon. You will get
all wrapped up in doing ribbons and bows by using
needle turn applique tips from Deb. Ribbon design
from Christmas Medley, Pepperment Twist, and Ribbons
& Heart will be featured.
Trading Spaces in Quilts by Debbie Bacon
Ideas for how to do a block exchange and create
a special sampler for your groups. Featured are
several sampler quilts done by Debbie and her
friends.
